I've been to the driving range some, but I've always used the club's unknown drivers - and I really know nothing about buying my own golf clubs. Can someone give me a dumbed-down explanation about what kind of irons/wedges/whatever I need in my starter set?

What is the best set of golf clubs for a left handed beginner?
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009I want to purchase my first set of golf clubs. I have not been golfing too many times but I am pretty athletic and a quick learner. I am not trying to be a pro but would like to have fun. I usually spend a little more than average on my sporting equipment because usually you can get better quality and if nothing else at least it makes you more confident. I want to spend around $1000.00 on clubs and I am wondering what else I should buy shoes, bag, glove, etc. I would also like to know the basics when it comes to club selection, offset, shaft length, stiffness, etc. Someone who could summerize for me would be great!!!
How much should I sell my golf clubs for?
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009I'm selling my junior set of golf clubs I had when I was about 13 (23 now) so clubs are quite old. I was going to take them down to a car boot sale but have absolutely no idea what they're worth. I don't want to be ripped off and I don't want to ask for too much. This is a full set of junior clubs (13 clubs total), generic brand in a used but still okay condition.
What type of golf clubs does a beginner need for a round of golf?
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009I just finished up a golf class last week put on by ESPN in which they gave you a set of Nike Ignite clubs to get started, namely; 4-9 irons, pw, 3-hybrid and a putter. I added a cheap driver (which I'm planning on upgrading to a Nike Summo) and a Wilson 58 deg sand wedge as well. I have played the past two months with this set and feel that I may need more fairway clubs especially for the 5 pars. I'm getting mixed up between some saying I need a 3 and a 5 wood while others say I need 5, 7 and 9 wood. As well, I'm mixed up whether I should get hybrids (like the #3 that I have) to take the place of the woods. Does anyone have suggestions on what I should get to complete my set? BTW, I do like wedges and would like to add either a LW or a GW to my set. Thanks!

What Insurance company offers insurance for my golf clubs while traveling?
Friday, September 18th, 2009I will be traveling to South America with my golf clubs and I am afraid that the airliner's employees may mishandle them or even steel them so I was wondering if anybody knows from an Insurance Company that would provide some kind of policy for my clubs.
Thanks!
